She also works towards a minor in Chemistry at UCF, combining her passion for both fields. Maria's academic interests are reflected in her hobbies, which include gardening, learning about native plants, and exploring topics related to ecology and chemistry. Tori, the very first employee of My Dragonfly Gardens, sets a remarkable standard for garden care. She embraced MDG’s vision of gardens as spaces of zen and harmony, blending artistry and ecological stewardship. A graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological and Earth Sciences/GeoSciences, Tori discovered her passion for sustainable design during her time at MDG. Inspired by the company’s philosophy, she pursued a degree in Landscape Architecture, focusing on sustainable methods and native plants. Her work reflects MDG’s commitment to ecological balance and functionality, transforming landscapes into tranquil, sustainable havens.

Nicholas Santiso
Bridging Ecology and Urban Planning
In 2021, Nick joined My Dragonfly Gardens, bringing his passion for entomology and his Bachelor of Environmental Science from Florida State University. During his time with us, Nick gained hands-on experience in sustainable gardening and urban ecology. Recognizing his potential, MDG encouraged Nick to connect with local planners and attend events that aligned with his interests. These experiences inspired him to return to FSU and pursue his Master Degree in Planning, Urban and Regional Planning. Kirsten Sharp
As our first designer, she led the charge in developing targeted My Dragonfly Gardens Outreach Programs and innovative content initiatives, including the widely acclaimed Pollinator in a Pot, Flip My Yard, and Plant for Birds, among others. A graduate of Valencia College with a degree in Horticulture, Kirsten also shaped key policies regarding plant selection and care. Her creativity extended to producing engaging short-form media, such as reels, that helped bring our mission to life. Kirsten’s two-year collaboration continues to resonate with the vision and values of My Dragonfly Gardens.

Banks Helfrich
As a civic servant and close collaborator, Banks brought his expertise and vision to My Dragonfly Gardens, helping to establish our Permaculture Division. Drawing from his passion for sustainable farming, he meticulously structured and launched the division in January 2023, following an 18-month proof-of-concept phase. Banks also lent his voice as a keynote speaker for MDG, sharing invaluable insights into sustainable farming practices. Currently campaigning for Florida’s House of Representatives in District 25, Banks continues his journey as a dedicated advocate for environmental stewardship and community engagement. Victoria Robbins
A standout member of our team, Tori Robbins joined My Dragonfly Gardens in 2023 as a Gardener I and later completed her internship with us in 2024. A Dean’s List honoree at the University of Central Florida, Tori's academic excellence and passion for environmental stewardship were evident throughout her time at MDG. One of her most notable contributions was the creation of the framework for our upcoming Herb and Wellness program, launching in Q1 2025, which focuses on Florida Native Plants.
