Alexis Sepulveda

Alexis joins My Dragonfly Gardens with a unique blend of hands-on gardening experience and artistic training. What began as a personal hobby—learning to grow her own produce—has grown into a commitment to sustainability and ecological gardening. She will begin her Plant Science and Horticulture studies at Valencia College in Spring 2026, strengthening the knowledge she brings to each site.

With a professional background as a barber, Alexis has a natural eye for detail, shape, and design. She enjoys applying that same creative precision to her work in the field, supporting healthy garden structure through careful weeding and maintenance. Her discipline as a Marine veteran, paired with her eagerness to learn, makes her a trusted and valued member of MDG’s maintenance team.

Marine Corps Sargent Alexis I Sepulveda

Background

A proud Marine Corps veteran, Alexis brings eight years of distinguished service and the leadership she developed as a Sergeant to her work at My Dragonfly Gardens. During her time in the Corps, she guided and supported the Marines under her care—an experience that shaped her resilience, discipline, and grounded approach to teamwork. Her service was recognized at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, where she received honors as a Service Person of the Quarter, a testament to her dedication, integrity, and impact on those around her.

Her interest in native plants and sustainable gardening continues to deepen as she prepares to study Plant Science and Horticulture at Valencia College. She is especially drawn to the relationship between soil health, ecological balance, and mindful garden care—values that align closely with MDG’s mission of designing with nature and sustaining the future.

Fun Fact

Alexis has been playing the drums since childhood, inspired by her father, who was the first to introduce her to rhythm and music. What began as a bonding hobby quickly grew into a lifelong passion, especially through her favorite genre—rock. Today, she’s taking that passion to the next level and is currently auditioning to join a local band.

Whether behind a drum set or working in the garden, Alexis brings the same energy, creativity, and steady beat to everything she does.
